For someone who never imagined getting into the insurance world growing up, Amanda Gardiner sure found her calling. Perhaps it was all that time spent filing forms and sending birthday cards to clients at her dad’s insurance office when she was 12. It could also be that she got her license — on the first try — when she was still in high school. More likely, it was experiencing first-hand the relationships her dad built throughout his career and how genuinely happy it made him when he could help someone, even if it didn’t always result in a sale.

“He’d tell me, ‘It’s OK if you don’t sell anything, Amanda. Just take care of people,’” Amanda said. “Insurance wasn’t exciting to me, but the entrepreneurial part was. I saw my dad’s business grow and how rewarding relationships were to him.” She added, “You’ll never catch me or my team ‘selling’ insurance. I want to educate and take care of people.” That mindset is easy when you learn from the best, and your agency is located in the community you grew up in. Amanda, a 1999 Lewisville High School graduate, opened her Goosehead Insurance agency in Flower Mound in 2014 and is every bit the hometown auto, and home insurance girl. There aren’t many places where she doesn’t run into someone, and she’s built an agency committed to being active through the local Rotary, chambers of commerce, etc. What started as a one-woman show has become a dynamic trio with Tonya Pope and Alejandra Johnson.
