7 Things You Didn’t Know: Nina Hernandez

1) Where do you work and what is your title? 

Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce – Marketing and Event Coordinator

2) What is your favorite thing about your career?

My favorite thing about working for the chamber is getting to know people and being able to use my creativity by making flyers and planning events! Every day is different and we’re like family at the office!

3)What is your proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is being a first-generation college graduate. My mom never finished her degree and my dad wasn’t a US citizen. I grew up with a lot of limitations that would’ve kept me from getting a better education but I stayed positive and I did it! Best moment of my life for sure!

4) Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

I’ve been told I look like Adrienne Bailon from the cheetah girls so she can play me in a movie any day.

5)What are three items on your bucket list?

1. Visit Disney in October when they have all of the Halloween decorations up! 2. Visit Oaxaca on Dia de Los Muertos and enjoy the parade celebrations they have to honor loved ones who have passed. 3. GO TO CANADA 

6)Do you collect anything? And Why?

I collect my own scrapbooks! I have one from childhood – high school, a college one, and a scrapbook that has memories of when I met my husband. I love looking back and remembering all of the great memories I have with the ones I love! I hope to continue making them when I have my own children.

7)What makes you laugh the most?

I laugh quite often so everything makes me laugh! I’ve been told my laugh is contagious and loud, so sometimes I forget and then people laugh at ME instead of what’s actually funny.
