Mothers, Sons & Service
Mothers and sons serve together, strengthening their bond while making
a difference in their community through the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL). For the Lantana Chapter, that commitment added up to an impressive 4,777 volunteer hours supporting 34 philanthropic organizations during the 2025-26 program year.
Behind that number are countless Saturday mornings, evenings spent volunteering together, boxes packed, meals prepared, parks cleaned and community events supported. More importantly, those hours represent mothers and sons showing up side by side to help people in their own community.
Throughout the year, YMSL Lantana mothers and sons partnered with local nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families facing a variety of challenges. Their volunteer efforts supported organizations serving:
• Individuals experiencing homelessness
and food insecurity
• Military members and veterans
• Families in need
• People living with disabilities
• Senior citizens
• Environmental protection and
conservation initiatives
From preparing meals and organizing donation drives to assisting at community events and beautifying local parks, members embraced countless opportunities to make a meaningful difference. Each experience gave young men the chance to see firsthand how a few hours of their time can make someone else’s day a little easier — and gave mothers and sons another opportunity to work toward something meaningful together.
“At YMSL Lantana, service is about more than giving back — it’s about building character, developing compassionate leaders, and creating lasting bonds between mothers and sons,” said Chapter President Alicia Hall. “We’re incredibly proud of our members’ dedication and the positive impact they’ve made throughout our community this year.”
And while 4,777 hours is certainly worth celebrating, the real impact is bigger than a number. It’s in the relationships built with local organizations, the people helped along the way and the young men learning that being a good leader starts with being willing to serve.

About Young Men’s Service League
Young Men’s Service League was founded on the mission of assisting, serving and supporting those who are in need while developing mother-son relationships. The organization has fostered a generation of young men dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities.
YMSL goes beyond completing service hours; it focuses on helping young men understand the value of giving back. Through a program that combines hands-on service with leadership training, members develop skills and experiences that can serve them well long after high school.
Founded in 2001, YMSL now reaches 199 chapters in 24 U.S. states, with 36,000 member moms and their young men serving more than 750,000 hours each year in their local communities.
Formed in 2019, the YMSL Lantana Chapter is comprised of 185 young men and moms from Lantana, Bartonville, Argyle, Corinth, Denton, Flower Mound, Northlake and surrounding areas. The chapter regularly partners with more than 34 local philanthropic organizations throughout the year.
