Lori Walker’s journey to becoming the President of the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce is a testament to her dedication and passion for community service. With a degree in Communication Arts from Austin College, Lori initially embarked on a political career in Washington, D.C., but her heart always yearned for Texas. Upon returning to the Lone Star State, she continued her political career while increasingly dedicating herself to community service. Her involvement in her children’s schools and various non-profit boards reflected her growing commitment to giving back.

Lori’s path took a significant turn when she was nominated to the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. It was here that she found her true calling. Today, as the President of the Chamber, Lori is honored to contribute to the growth and prosperity of Flower Mound’s community and businesses, fostering a thriving environment for all.

Inspired by her mother, whom she describes as the most amazing woman she has ever known, Lori’s leadership is deeply influenced by her mother’s exemplary career, community involvement, and loving nature. Although Lori’s mother passed away when she was just 25, her influence continues to guide Lori’s actions and relationships, instilling in her the values of integrity, empathy, and dedication.

For young women aspiring to be leaders, Lori offers invaluable advice: be passionate about your work and compassionate towards others. 

She emphasizes the importance of kindness, giving back without expecting anything in return, setting high standards, and being an attentive listener. These traits, she believes, are essential for personal and professional growth.

Lori identifies integrity, empathy, and self-awareness as the most crucial qualities of a successful leader. These attributes not only earn respect but also build strong and lasting relationships within the team and the community.

To manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance, Lori turns to her love for entertaining and hosting parties. The meticulous planning and attention to detail involved in organizing events act as stress relievers for her. Additionally, her love for music and singing provides an outlet for relaxation and enjoyment. It’s not uncommon to find Lori turning her daily commute into a private concert, belting out tunes to unwind.
