Lori Fickling, President/CEO of the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce, began her professional journey in real estate, but her true passion for community engagement led her to the world of chamber work, self-employment, nonprofit, government, and back to chamber work. Inspired by strong women making significant impacts, Lori committed herself to empowering other women to find their place and succeed. 

Throughout her career, Lori has been surrounded by remarkable women who inspire her daily. Her first boss, Phyllis Davis, instilled in her the confidence to push her limits and believe in herself. 

Another significant influence is her friend and mentor, Bobbie Mitchell, whose guidance has been invaluable. And her family and friends keep her motivated to always be her best self.

As a leader, Lori shares valuable advice with aspiring young women ­— take charge of your life and don’t let others dictate your path. She emphasizes the importance of believing in one’s capabilities to achieve dreams. 

For Lori, the key qualities of a successful leader include genuineness, active listening, and compassion for others. Remaining true to one’s convictions and standing up for people are equally important attributes. 

Balancing work and personal life has been a journey for Lori. While raising her family, she often found work dominating her time. However, she has since learned the value of setting boundaries and being intentional about spending quality time with family and friends, as well as pursuing her hobbies. 

Having experienced diverse career paths, Lori is grateful to have come full circle, returning to the Lewisville Area Chamber, where her journey commenced. As President/CEO, she continues to make a positive impact, empowering women, young professionals, and businesses of all sizes, and fostering a vibrant community spirit.
