There’s something timeless about the Fourth of July in North Texas, yet this year carries even more meaning as communities across the country celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. From lakeside festivals to hometown parades, many of our towns are pulling out all the stops. Whether you’re planning a family outing or a full day of festivities, here’s where to celebrate Independence Day in patriotic style.
Yankee Doodle Parade & Kiwanis Fireworks
Denton

Steeped in tradition, Denton’s Fourth of July celebration kicks off with the beloved Yankee Doodle Parade Saturday morning. Held in downtown Denton, the parade features decorated floats, marching bands, and community groups, beginning at 9 am.
Then the celebration continues into the evening with the Denton Noon Kiwanis Club Firework Show at the North Texas Fairgrounds, starting at 9:30 pm. Consider comfortable walking shoes for the parade and return later with blankets or chairs for the fireworks.
Independence Fest
Flower Mound
Flower Mound’s Independence Fest returns bigger and better than ever for 2026, celebrating America’s 250th birthday with a full day of family fun. The celebration begins Saturday morning with the Children’s Parade at Leonard and Helen Johns Community Park, featuring decorated bikes and family-friendly activities.
Resuming at 5 pm, Bakersfield Park will host a vintage car show, an expanded Kid’s Zone, and a variety of vendors and food trucks. The main event features live music performances by Emerald City Band, Le Freak, and country music star, Gabby Barrett, followed by the biggest fireworks display ever staged in Flower Mound. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen and consider an umbrella for shade. Coolers and lawn chairs will be allowed, however, alcoholic beverages will be prohibited but can be purchased onsite.
All-American Fireworks & Festival

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with the City of Roanoke’s annual All-American Fireworks and Festival on Friday, July 3rd, from 5-10 pm. Visitors will enjoy a full lineup of activities, including carnival rides, bounce houses, face painting, a pie-eating competition, vendor booths, and a variety of delicious food trucks. At 7:30 pm, witness a high-energy dueling piano performance at City Hall Plaza, featuring live music, audience interaction, and nonstop entertainment, followed by a spectacular fireworks show that lights up the sky just after 9:15 pm.

A Castle Hills community tradition for more than 20 years, this free, family-friendly event will feature face painters, balloon artists, caricature artists, a bounce house/water slide combo, an ultimate bungee ride, a ninja tower, food trucks, live music, and, of course, a fireworks show at dusk. Concessions will be available for purchase from several Village Shops’ restaurants and food trucks. The highlight of the evening, a fireworks show, will start at dusk.
Red, White, & Beach

The town of Little Elm’s signature Red, White & Beach celebration returns again, giving residents and non-residents a full day’s worth of sun and fun. Start the day with the Firecracker 5K and 1K Fun Run, which begins at 7:45 am on the Lakefront Trail. Post-race festivities include a brunch pass, hot dogs, and a drink at Towers Tap House.
The main event at Little Elm Park features live music, food trucks, and beach activities, and concludes with a fireworks show over Lewisville Lake at approximately 9:30 p.m. Little Elm residents can claim up to four free general admission tickets per household, but non-resident admission is $5 per attendee. General admission parking is $30 and sold on-site.
Liberty by the Lake

Set against the scenic backdrop of Lewisville Lake, Liberty by the Lake is a community favorite that captures the essence of a summer celebration. Held at Stewart Creek Park, the event will begin with the Liberty 5K and Fun Run Saturday morning, followed by the Independence Day Parade, and the Liberty by the Lake Festival at the Athletic Club.
Highlighted by a three-day carnival from July 2-5, revelers can expect carnival rides, festive foods, and family-friendly activities leading up to the main event. The fireworks finale reflects beautifully over the water, making it one of the most visually striking displays in North Texas.
Free on-site parking will be available at The Colony High School, 4301 Blair Oaks Dr. Parking can fill quickly, so arrive early or consider rideshare options. Pack a picnic, bug spray, and folding chairs. If you can, stake out a spot with a clear lake view for the full experience.
