Growing up with a healthy support system can make all the difference in one’s life. Unfortunately, the stark fact is one in three of today’s youth are forced to embark on this journey on their own.
However, in the heart of North Texas, one inspiring organization is making a difference. With its unwavering commitment to empower and uplift vulnerable young individuals, Together We Thrive is dedicated to pairing life coaches with struggling and at-risk youth, providing them with the resources and support they need to navigate their challenges and flourish.
Led by Founder and Executive Director Tracey Hardwick, Together We Thrive’s mission lies in the belief that genuine connection and support can lead to profound transformation in young people’s lives. The organization’s life coaching approach encompasses personal development, emotional growth, and practical life skills training.
Coaches not only serve as mentors but as trusted allies, fostering a safe space where teens can openly share their experiences, aspirations, and fears without judgment. This nurturing relationship built on trust empowers youths to believe in themselves and envision a brighter future.
Founded in 2019 on the core principle that every young person deserves a chance to succeed, Together We Thrive has forged a unique path in community engagement, mentorship, and emotional well-being. This 501c(3) non-profit organization recognizes the myriad challenges that can disrupt a young person’s life — be it mental health issues, socio-economic difficulties, or family instability. With empathy and understanding, Together We Thrive addresses these barriers by connecting teens with compassionate, trained life coaches who can guide them on their path to self-discovery and resilience.
The organization actively collaborates with local schools in the Dallas and Frisco independent school districts, mentoring over one thousand middle and high school students. By cultivating these partnerships, Together We Thrive ensures that its services are accessible to the most vulnerable populations, breaking down the barriers that often prevent young people from seeking help.
To achieve this, the organization continuously seeks to expand its network of life coaches, which currently stands at eleven individuals. Empathetic, trained, and dedicated to making a difference, these certified life coaches play a pivotal role in this mission, providing their time and expertise to mentor youth and create lasting connections.
The impact of the Together We Thrive’s work is evident in the organization’s mantra. “If we fail a student, we fail as an organization,” Hardwick shared. For many teens, the mere presence of a dedicated life coach has sparked a newfound sense of hope when they realize they are not alone.
Coaches work closely with their mentees, creating personalized plans that address individual challenges and goals. Whether it’s improving academic performance, managing stress, or developing healthy relationships, this tailored approach enables young people to take ownership of their lives and work towards making productive choices.
One hundred percent of the students that take part in the program successfully complete the school year, a statistic that stands as a testament to the effectiveness of relationship-building and supportive coaching.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Together We Thrive’s work does not stop when the school bell rings. Life coaches serve the mentees throughout the summer and continue to foster the relationship outside of the school.
Keenly aware of the importance of financial sustainability, Together We Thrive actively recruits local sponsors, donors, and civic organizations, to keep their program alive. Their fundraising efforts include charity events, sponsorships, and even an annual casino night, all with the goal of sustaining their impactful work in the community.
