The Accent Wall Lady — Taking Your Walls from Dull to Dynamic

An artist for as long as she can remember, Jamie Taylor has always been interested in design.

Through her decade-long journey as a beloved local bartender, and later as a sandwich shop owner and furniture refinisher, her love for design stuck with her throughout. So, it is no surprise of the Carrollton resident’s success in the three years since starting The Accent Wall Lady.

“I’ve always loved the interior decorating side of design,” said Jamie, the sole owner of The Accent Wall Lady.

“During the covid Pandemic, my husband (Michael) and I started building furniture for clients and taking on other woodworking projects. We dabbled in a couple accent walls for friends and posted them on my former business page alongside our furniture. It took one random Facebook user to request, ‘can you do this wall for me with a different design’ and it pretty much blew up from there. This literally fell into our hands.”

Jamie and her military veteran husband installed all their accent walls together for a full two years until he went back to school to fulfill his own ambitions. At that time Jamie found the best of the best to add to her team.

Her company employs a small team of contractors including Jasiel Flores, who started as its painter two years ago but for the last year has handled most of the installations while Jamie continues to grow The Accent Wall Lady brand. Colby Cantú, a local carpenter, and Manny Melendez, a local painter, have also been a huge part in The Accent Wall Lady’s success over the past few years.

“I couldn’t do it without my team,” she said.

Working with Jamie generally starts with talking to potential clients by phone, text, or email, to gain perspective of the vision for their space.

“I tell them ‘show me what your eye is drawn to, then I can take it from there,’” she said.

With inspirational design photos and general dimensions/pictures of the space, Jamie can send an estimate prior to setting up a consultation so customers have a general idea of how much their idea will cost.

“Once the projected project budget is accepted by our clients, we walk them through the whole process and that is when the customization begins,” Jamie said. “We assist in color choice, design variations, and any other aspects of
the project that may need some additional attention.”

Unlike many of her competitors, Jamie utilizes the same team members for each job providing consistent quality and customer service throughout every project.

“Our clients know exactly who is walking into their house,” she said. “And I’m there, in some form or fashion, every step of the way. I get our team set up, design drawn out, and rockin’ and rollin.’ As I’m still installing some walls myself, I had to pull together a trustworthy crew who knows my values, standards, and expectations for The Accent Wall Lady and upholds them for our clients when I’m not on site.”

The Accent Wall Lady prides itself on its attention to detail, skill of the labor, quality of materials, and customer service provided throughout each project.

“We are not the lowest price in town, but I can guarantee that we are the best in the business, and you will not regret trusting us with your space,” she said. “This is our niche. This is what we do every day. We do it right, or we don’t do it at all.

“We are known for our attention to detail and put a ton of love into each wall for our clients. That’s why we stand out and stay booked with repeat business and referrals from our former and existing clientele.”

The Accent Wall Lady currently assists clients throughout the Metroplex and is excited about the chance to do the same for Denton County residents.

“This is my passion,” Jamie said. “Some who know me have said it’s an addiction. Most who know me say I’m a workaholic. But I love it and wouldn’t have my life any other way.”
