Summit Club of Flower Mound Elects New Leadership for 2025

The Summit Club of Flower Mound commenced the new year with a significant transition in leadership, electing Don McDaniel as their new President. McDaniel succeeds Bryan Webb, who concludes his tenure marked by remarkable growth and community impact.

McDaniel, previously serving as VP Community Support, steps into the President’s role with a clear vision for the club’s future. “I am honored to follow in the footsteps of leaders like Mr. Webb and Mr. Forrest,” McDaniel remarked. “Their dedication has set a high standard, and I look forward to building on their legacy.”

Alongside McDaniel, the club elected Claudio Forest as Treasurer, succeeding Duane Francis. Bill Wetherbee and Chuck Chester were reelected as VP Information Services and VP Community Activities, respectively. Webb transitions to the role of Past President, continuing to contribute as a voting member of the executive committee.

Under Bryan Webb’s stewardship, the Summit Club saw significant expansions, notably enhancing the Flower Mound Smoke & Whiskey Fest. This annual event, now hosted at the Promenade at The River Walk, has grown in popularity with additions like the Flurry’s Friday Night Steak Out, a Cigar Lounge, and Whiskey Tasting events.

“In 2024 alone, the Summit Club contributed over $25,000 to local organizations, awarded Academic Excellence Awards to 82 students, and supported robotics teams at Flower Mound and Marcus High Schools,” noted outgoing President Bryan Webb. The club also maintains endowed scholarships at North Central Texas College, furthering educational opportunities for local students.

Throughout the year, the Summit Club remains actively engaged in community events, from the Independence Day Children’s Parade to the Veteran’s Day Ceremony and Breakfast with Santa, where they serve hotdogs and pancakes.

Looking ahead, the Summit Club plans to leverage the success of the Smoke & Whiskey Fest as their primary fundraiser while exploring new avenues to serve and support the Flower Mound community.
