Real People. Real Justice.

Adam Burrows knows how easy it is to get caught up in the “next big thing.” After all, the promises that come with things like a shiny new business strategy, a promise of an overnight breakthrough, or even the latest can’t-miss opportunity are often too good to pass up — even before anyone stops to question them.

The push for artificial intelligence is a prime example. In fact, generative AI tools like ChatGPT are merely the tip of the iceberg for what is no longer just the next big thing. It’s already here.

And believe it or not, it could take over the legal system if we aren’t careful.

“Everyone is getting on the AI bandwagon,” Adam said. He is the proud owner of Burrows Law Group. “I get one or two emails a day talking about how AI tools can streamline what we do at the firm. That’s all well and good, but why are we going to remove the little bit of human quality we have in the justice system — just to go to a more AI-based model?”

He added, “We want people to know we are real people doing real work, and we’re really good.”

Adam isn’t condemning all use of AI. That said, just because a tool exists doesn’t mean it belongs in every situation. People love to joke that there is no justice in the justice system. So, imagine what might happen if AI becomes a cure-all in family law cases like divorce, child custody, paternity suits, and property division.

Imagine if it starts replacing judgment, experience, and critical thinking.

“I’m looking at the intricacies of what the family is and the human dynamics of it,” Adam added. “We can’t lose that. I understand all the reasons we have AI. But we’re also losing a human element because of it.”

Burrows Law Group has always erred on the side of humanity, family, and community.

What began two decades ago remains a pillar of strength in Denton County and has also expanded into Collin and Tarrant Counties. The firm boasts a team of dedicated attorneys, united by a shared commitment to providing compassionate, skilled legal counsel.

So, when you call or visit in person, you’re always going to be greeted by a real person. Speaking of which, who are those people at Burrows Law?

Adam has used his position as a respected legal professional to advance the careers of younger attorneys while also attracting veteran attorneys who want to be part of his team. Joining Adam are attorneys Jennifer Hicks, Daniel Dower, Brielle Roderick-Badoy, Hollie Ritchie, and Vanita Aphan-Kirkland.

Daniel has significant experience in structured finance, arbitrating business disputes, organizing corporations, licensing, and contracts. In the family law context, he has expertise in business valuation, constructive fraud, forensic accounting, and property tracing.

Jennifer brings a wealth of experience from her over 22 years of legal practice, 15 of which have been exclusively in the Denton County courts. Jennifer also brings the perspective of a working mother, 17 years as a law enforcement spouse (now retired), varied experiences with children in the law, and knowledge of the criminal and juvenile law systems.

Brielle has represented clients in a broad range of family law matters, including custody, divorce, property division, enforcement, modifications, protective orders, adoptions, name changes, paternity, terminations, post- and pre-nuptial agreements, and child support.

Hollie is one of the newer faces at Burrows Law Group. She specializes in family law, with experience in child custody, divorce, adoption, and termination matters. In addition to her family law practice, Hollie also assists clients with estate planning services, including wills, trusts, and proactive planning designed to protect families and preserve long-term security.

Vanita has litigated family law cases in the District Courts throughout the Dallas Metroplex, as well as the Fifth Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the Supreme Court of Texas.

“We’re here to serve our clients, and that won’t change anytime soon,” Adam said. “I’m biased, but I feel confident that our brand and who we are as people reflect the values we live by.”
