Precision Meets Compassion at Cramer Orthodontics

From engineering wireless connections to designing beautiful smiles, Dr. Chris Cramer’s journey into orthodontics is nothing short of inspiring.

Before founding Cramer Orthodontics in 2018, Dr. Cramer spent over a decade at Motorola leading engineering teams that designed the equipment powering cell phone communications. But after years in the corporate world, he felt a pull toward something more personal — something that allowed him to help people directly.

“I wanted to do something that made a meaningful difference in people’s lives,” he said. “I’ve always been fascinated by how things work, and studying human biology felt like the ultimate challenge.”

With his wife’s support, Dr. Cramer returned to school and earned his dental degree from Texas A&M College of Dentistry, followed by acceptance into the prestigious orthodontic residency program. There, he met Dr. Clay Pickering, a respected Denton orthodontist. When Dr. Pickering retired, he entrusted Dr. Cramer with his family-oriented practice — a legacy that continues to thrive today.

A Family-Focused Approach

At Cramer Orthodontics, Dr. Cramer blends engineering precision with compassionate care. The practice is known for its warm, family-friendly environment and use of cutting-edge technology — like high-resolution 3D scanners that replace traditional molds, allowing for customized braces, Invisalign designs, and retainers crafted with exacting accuracy.

Cramer Orthodontics is the #1 Invisalign provider in Denton County.

“Our office is designed around patient comfort,” Dr. Cramer said. “We use the latest tools to make treatment faster, easier, and more comfortable while keeping that personal, small-town touch.”

Beyond the Smile

Dr. Cramer’s passion extends beyond creating beautiful smiles — he’s an advocate for patient safety and ethical care. Concerned about the rise of online orthodontic companies, he worked directly with Texas legislators and even traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate for patient protections. His efforts contributed to new laws requiring in-person evaluations before orthodontic treatment can begin.

He also serves on the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners’ Dental Review Committee, appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott, protecting patients from unsafe or unethical dental practices.“It’s a big responsibility,” Dr. Cramer said, “but ensuring patient safety is worth every bit of effort.”

A Team That Truly Cares

Behind every smile is a caring team. Dr. Cramer’s staff is known for creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and supported. He recalls one young boy with dental anxiety who, after a gentle and patient experience getting braces, left beaming with confidence.

“His mom was so touched she wrote us the kindest review,” he said. “But really, that’s just who we are — we treat every patient like family.”

For Dr. Cramer, success is defined not just by straighter teeth, but by the confidence and happiness each patient carries when they leave his office.
