New Half-Day Preschool Offers Award-Winning Curriculum

Choosing a preschool is one of the most important decisions a parent must make. It is the starting point for your little one’s path to learning. In Flower Mound, a new, novel approach to early childhood education, Ivybrook Academy, a half-day preschool, is now enrolling students for the upcoming school year.

Ivybrook Academy is nationally recognized for its multi-faceted approach in the classroom for students ages 18 months through pre-kindergarten. Ivybrook combines elements of Montessori and Reggio Emilia education with Multiple Intelligence Research, crafting a balanced curriculum with emphasis on creating a continuous cycle of learning designed to reflect a child’s interests and needs.

At Ivybrook, each class, no matter the age, is very much child-led. For example, if a 2-year-old boy is super-interested in dinosaurs, his teacher might choose to use a dinosaur to help him learn about math. Each lesson is driven by the child’s interest allowing the student to learn at their own pace, encourage curiosity, and help each child build a love of learning.

Ivybrook Academy Flower Mound owners, Julie and Scott Smith, decided to open the new campus because, as parents of a 5-year-old son, they quickly recognized the program’s value. The Ivybrook curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of the individual child. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach to learning, and most importantly, it provides a solid educational foundation to set a child up for long-term success.

“Come take a look at Ivybrook. We think you’ll be hooked like we were,” says Julie Smith. “There is truly nothing like it in the area. We’ve had so much interest already, and we’d love to see enrollment grow even more.”

Enrollment for half-day classes is now open for the 2022–2023 school year. Classes are split up by specific ages, on two-, three-, or five-day schedules. The new campus will follow the local public school schedule.
