National Knockout
Shiloh Prouvost, an 11-year-old from Denton, recently won the US Open Taekwondo championship in the Black Belt Under-35kg Olympic Sparring division — competing against athletes from across the country.
Shiloh trains at KIT Taekwondo in South Denton under Coach Nate Putney, Assistant Coach of the Texas State Taekwondo Team. She began taekwondo at age 5, started competing at 7, and has collected multiple state, national, and world championship titles. Her long-term goal is to represent the United States at the Olympics in Australia.
Beyond her personal achievements, Shiloh’s success is a great reflection of the talent being developed right here in Denton. KIT Taekwondo has been instrumental in her journey, and Coach Putney’s guidance has helped shape her into a nationally recognized competitor at just 11 years old.
