The founders of the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas, Dr. John Broadnax and Dr. Eric Anderson, are passionate about providing their patients with
world-class, top-of-the-line pain care within an encouraging and educational environment.
Before founding the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas, Dr. Anderson and Dr. Broadnax worked together at a pain management practice in Chicago. Dr. Broadnax attended medical school at Johns Hopkins School of medicine and, after completing his residency and pain fellowship at Harvard Medical School, he began practicing in Chicago and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Dr. Anderson began his career in Chicago after completing the prestigious pain fellowship at Texas Tech University. It didn’t take long for Dr. Anderson to be nominated for the “Chicago’s Top Doc” award. He also served on multiple committees of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Both doctors bonded very quickly over their passion for providing hope and restoring health through comprehensive, interventional pain care as well as sharing a value and vision for providing quality patient care. Dr. Broadnax and Dr. Anderson both had a vision and a dream of founding a practice that offered cutting-edge, minimally invasive care of musculoskeletal, spine, and nerve-related pain in a compassionate and educational environment.
“We wanted to create a world-class interventional pain practice that would serve the needs of the community and have the ability to provide a meaningful impact in the lives of patients who otherwise might have some limited treatment options,” Dr. Broadnax said.
Choosing to build the foundation of this dream in North Texas was an easy decision. Dr. Broadnax grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex while Dr. Anderson fell in love with Texas during his medical training here. The doctors quickly began the laborious task of building their practice and bringing the new clinic to fruition and in December of 2017, the doors to the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas were ready to open.
Throughout the building process, both Dr. Broadnax and Dr. Anderson were meticulous in identifying the building blocks for the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas. With the core values of both doctors as the foundation of their practice, the focus on patients and patient education would end up functioning as their most critical cornerstone. With those characteristics put into place, everything else would seamlessly fall into place. The educational aspect of the practice successfully makes the patient a partner in restoring and
ultimately maintaining their health. The goal
of the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas is to educate their patients by explaining to them why they feel the way they do. “It is so important to fully educate patients about the cause of their pain and to guide them through the treatment process in order to provide patients with the best opportunity to address their pain in a meaningful way,” the physician assistant at the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas, Riley Bingham, PA-C, said.
The entire staff at the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas have a true desire to spend one-on-one time consulting with patients so that they are ultimately able to work toward the best treatment option for a wonderful and pain-free quality of life. This is the approach that has defined the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas.
“Everything we do is for the patients. We focus on compassion, positivity, and kindness while helping patients navigate their way through the various treatment pathways to improve their function, minimize their pain, and maximize their quality of life,” Dr. Broadnax said.
“We’ve come so far since we started working together in Chicago,” Dr. Anderson said. “And we’ve continued moving forward ever since we opened the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas. It’s incredible when we take the time to realize just how far we have come and not only the impact we’ve made on the community, but the impact this community has made on us.”
Founded on values, vision, and a dream, the Advanced Pain Institute of Texas has truly made a difference in the lives of the people of our communities in North Texas.
