Luxuriate in the Woodhouse Difference
Yvonne Stewart isn’t unlike many of us. She’s a local business owner who loves her job and takes pride in making customers smile, but she clearly puts in more hours each day at the office than she cares to admit. Even when not working, she’s constantly on the go at various community events and family gatherings. So, where does a busy bee like Yvonne go when she needs a real break?
Well, truth be told, she goes back to work. That’s because her office is Woodhouse Day Spa in Highland Village.
We get it — squeezing in a pedicure, cryo facial, or relaxing foot massage between clients doesn’t sound like such a tough gig. But can you blame her? Not to mention, Yvonne isn’t keeping this place a secret. She knows you’re incredibly busy and could use a break, too.
“I don’t have to go far to treat myself — just that leg massage alone is incredibly calming,” she said with a laugh. Yvonne has owned her franchise location since 2018 and has made it a family affair over the years with help from her husband, Steve, and daughters, Dusty and Sandy. Even Dusty’s husband, Sean Kavanagh, has joined the management team in recent years. “If you can do that for other people, it’s even better. We do things the Woodhouse way, and people love it.”
The Woodhouse Day Spa is located in the Shops at Highland Village. Overall, there are 90 locations nationwide, including 21 in Texas. But Yvonne’s location is the first and only in Denton County.
The best part is that this isn’t your everyday, run-of-the-mill day spa. Woodhouse has more than 70 available services and a team of experts who know how to create a tranquil and transformational environment. As a result, Woodhouse is perhaps the most comprehensive destination for all your spa needs.
Their services include massage therapy, facials, manicures and pedicures, sleep treatments, and mud and body wraps. They also offer nail and waxing services, renewal baths, microdermabrasion, and hydrafacials.
They also offer seasonal firming cryo facials and a men’s hot towel facial, which leaves skin feeling deeply cleansed, refreshed, and refined thanks to infused marine extracts that boost hydration and improve energy levels. Not to be outdone, there’s also the summer farmhouse fresh mani/pedi.
They even have packages where you can spend the entire day getting pampered.
The distinctive Woodhouse standard exceeds your expectations, offering outstanding facilities and therapeutic treatments that prioritize your overall health and wellness. In today’s hectic lifestyle, we don’t take enough time for ourselves. This is your chance to relax and let the first steps you take to the perfect balance of beauty, health, and wellness be the ones that bring you to Woodhouse.
“This is a luxury. Think of good, better, and best — where this is the best spa,” Yvonne said. “This is a place where you come in and spend quality time. It’s not a rushed event. You’re greeted, taken to a locker room, given a robe, slippers, and even a beverage. It’s a place where you can finally decompress. Sometimes it’s friends, other times it’s couples or even someone by themselves.”
Hearing Yvonne talk eloquently about Woodhouse Day Spa would naturally make anyone think she’s been in the industry for decades. But in her case, it’s better late than never. The longtime Denton County resident said she had been begged for years by a good friend who thought she’d be a perfect fit as a local franchise owner.
For one reason or another, Yvonne never thought it was the right time — even though she had a corporate job for over 28 years and held only one other corporate position. Fast-forward seven years, and her Woodhouse Day Spa is thriving. More importantly, it feels like home!
In the window of her spa sits a 45-year-old Monstera plant that she received from her future mother-in-law back in 1978. Small at the time, it has grown to become a symbol of the hard work and determination Yvonne and her team of 33 employees put into their jobs every day. In fact, they are going for what will hopefully be their seventh straight year as a Best of Denton County winner.
“Being a first-time franchise owner was a tough start in 2018. We had just gone through a rough construction supply shortage with Hurricane Harvey in South Texas, then COVID in 2020, and the economy going up and down constantly,” Yvonne said. “But we have always thrived thanks to our loyal clients and our team. This is a great team that cares about its community. I know from guests who come here that they enjoy having a day spa right in their backyard.”
