Lorentz Brings Full-Service Auto Shop Home to Ponder

Lorentz Automotive

With more than four decades of auto repair experience under their belt, Lorentz Automotive has expanded to open the only full-service auto shop in Ponder.

It’s giving back to their community for Renae and her son Cole Lorentz, both who call Ponder home. “It’s our hometown, the community we live in,” Cole said. “I’m big on growing and living in the community and being part of that community.”

“We enjoy seeing our neighbors come through our door,” Renae added. “We enjoy working with our volunteer Fire Department, with the Police Department, and the City of Ponder. It’s that kind of atmosphere we gravitate to — people we’re going to be around day-to-day. We’re going to take care of them. It’s more of a family atmosphere out here.”

Back in 1982, Mike and Renae Lorentz opened their first auto repair shop in Lewisville. Their son Cole has grown up in the auto business and carries on the tradition of integrity, knowledge, and honesty for the fourth generation of the Lorentz family, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather Junior Lorentz, and great-grandfather Robert Cole, all who grew up in Oklahoma.

The family still operates that flagship location in Lewisville, as well as locations in downtown Denton, which opened last year, and now in Ponder, which started welcoming customers on January 1. They also own German Autowerks in Lewisville.

“It’s that locally-owned thing — keeping locally-owned businesses open within the community and helping each other out,” Cole said. “For us, it’s about how much we care about the community, care about keeping our customers happy because we are part of that community. We’re not just some fly-by-night shop.”

Lorentz Automotive is proud to have been voted Best of Denton County Automotive Repair Shop for many years, and they are grateful so much to all their loyal customers.

Lorentz Automotive offers all vehicle services and repairs. It shuttles customers to and from their homes and businesses while their vehicles are being serviced, a key factor in helping customers who live near Ponder.

“We come from a small-town background and really like the small-town feel,” Renae said. “We love the opportunity to help the people there and help grow with the community.”

The next time it’s your car that needs some work, call upon the family that’s there to serve you and your community. Call Lorentz Automotive.
