Legacy of the Crescent Wrench

Tripple A AC

No one can live comfortably through a Texas summer without air-conditioning, which is why there are more than two hundred HVAC companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

So, how does one company separate itself from the crowd? Well, Triple A in Flower Mound has that answer! It’s been in the HVAC industry since 1949, been through four generations of the Neff family, and still treasures the ol’ crescent wrench first owned by Grandpa Neff.

“Our grandfather worked out of his truck,” Dustin Neff explained. “My dad, Keith Neff, wasn’t older than 10 or 11 when he started working with him. Dad was on a job with Grandpa, who asked him to get his crescent wrench from the truck. Dad went down the ladder and to the truck, but there was no wrench. That made him nervous. He returned to Grandpa who sent him back down the ladder, telling him to find that wrench. Again, no luck. Finally, Grandpa checked the pocket of his overalls and there it was!” Thus, the story of the crescent wrench was born, and has been in the family ever since!

The Neffs purchased Triple A from its original owners in 1989 – 40 years after Grandpa Neff started in the business.

“We’re family-owned and operated,” said Dustin, who was recently named to the Industry’s Top 40 Under 40. “During Christmastime, there’s a family that always waits for me to mount their tree-topper,” he continued. The Neffs are close to the community where we were born and raised, and are always looking to serve.

“Our focus is customer satisfaction, which is the basis of our three guarantees: performance, satisfaction, and our 100 percent money-back guarantee.” Triple A was voted Best of Denton County in 2022.

Grandpa Neff’s crescent wrench, and all it symbolizes, is safe under the four generations’ guaranteed protection.
