Hilltop Elementary’s Teacher of the Year 2025

In the heart of Argyle, where small-town charm meets educational excellence, Jordan Johnson is making a lasting impact — one young learner at a time.

A dedicated first-grade teacher at Hilltop Elementary, Jordan has spent the past seven years shaping young minds, five of those with Argyle ISD. This year, her unwavering commitment and passion for education earned her the well-deserved title of Teacher of the Year.

Jordan’s journey to the classroom started long before she held her first teaching job. “I’ve always wanted to be a teacher,” she shared. “I dressed up as a teacher for Halloween several years in a row starting at age 5! By age 8, I asked for an overhead projector and played school nearly every night. I’m living the dream.”

And indeed, she is. Jordan pours her heart into her classroom, especially when it comes to helping her first graders grow in reading. Watching their progress over the year brings her tremendous joy and fuels her drive to continue evolving as
an educator.

But the road to success hasn’t been without its challenges. “This year was especially demanding,” she admitted. “I was in my final year of graduate school and had a very busy class of first graders. However, it was all worth it!” Balancing school, teaching, and personal life could have been overwhelming, but Jordan tackled it with resilience and purpose.

To manage her daily responsibilities and maintain focus, Jordan follows a simple but powerful strategy. “I try to pick three goals to accomplish each day. There will always be more work to do… leave it and pick it back up tomorrow.” This mindset has helped her stay grounded and productive, even during her busiest seasons.

Jordan chose to work in Argyle because of its close-knit, community-oriented atmosphere. “I loved the small-town feel,” she said. That sense of connection has continued to grow over the years, both with her students and fellow educators. Being named Teacher of the Year, Jordan says, is a humbling experience — one she credits to the supportive and passionate team she works with every day.

Looking ahead, Jordan is excited to expand her impact. She graduated this past May with a Master’s degree in School Counseling and hopes to continue serving students in a new and meaningful way.

From imaginative childhood play to real-life achievement, Jordan Johnson is living out her dream and inspiring others to do the same. Argyle ISD is lucky to have such a dedicated, thoughtful, and compassionate educator in its corner — helping to build not just great students, but a strong and caring community.

Congratulations, Jordan, and thank you for all that you do!
