First graders got the opportunity to study baby chicks for a spring science project. Northwest ISD elementary schools incubated 297 eggs and hatched 168 chicks. This project is part of the first-grade unit that studies animal life cycles giving the students a chance to see science in action! The kids are able to study the entire process from collecting the egg to putting them in the incubator and waiting 21 days for them to hatch.
