The holiday season is long gone, and hopefully, that means no more cake, candy, and tables loaded with food we shouldn’t be eating. I mean, don’t get me wrong, just the sound of all that is making me hungry. But now is the time to start thinking about what we can do to better ourselves — and start anew.
Naturally, a great place to start is by recapturing your fitness goals and being healthy. But it also goes beyond that. Typical resolutions that we should all follow through with this time of year include spending less time on work and more with family and friends, living life to the fullest, getting organized, and learning a new skill or hobby. Many people use the flip to the new year as a chance to clean the slate financially — get out of debt, save money, etc.
These are all great ideas, and it can be easy for many of us to simply say, “Yeah, I’m going to focus on all of that.” My answer is that instead of biting off more than you can chew, pick one — maybe two — New Year’s resolutions and put all of your time and energy into meeting those goals. You’ll be a lot better off and more likely to follow through.
