FMPD Deliver Presents to Local Families

Started in 1995 by now-retired Officer Margie Salame, Santa Cops delivers toys to financially disadvantaged children in their community. The program is funded entirely by local donations, and is organized by Police Officers, their families, and community members.

As stated by Mayor Derek France, “Santa Cops is such a meaningful program that makes a real difference in our community every year. Thanks to generous donations from our residents, our police officers are able to spread holiday cheer while impacting the lives of families in need”.

Santa Cops is designed for those who want to make Christmas brighter for Flower Mound children, as well as provide an opportunity for positive interaction between the Flower Mound Police Department and those children who otherwise might go without. Programs such as these operate throughout the US frosting the idea that law enforcement serves as well as protects. “The Flower Mound Police Department excels at community outreach and engagement all year long, but this program is special because it brings joy to families and children who may have otherwise not received gifts. I’m proud of the work our men and women at the Flower Mound Police Department do every day, but I’m always especially proud of them during Santa Cops for their efforts to make sure every family in our community feels loved, appreciated, and included,” said Mayor Derek.

Individual donations account for a sizeable portion of the funds used to purchase gifts, alongside the fundraisers FMCPAAA and FMPD organize during the year. Donations are accepted year-round. Residents can use any of the following donation methods to participate in the Santa Cops program:

  • FMCPAAA Website: FMCPAAA.org/santacops
  • Checks made out to PMCPAAA
  • Gift Cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
  • Target Gift Cards

Family referrals are being accepted throughout the fall. There is a limited number of families that can be assisted each year. If you know of a family in need, contact the FMPD Santa Cops for more information on the referral process.
