Dr. Lori Rapp – 2025 Region 11 Superintendent of the Year

Dr. Lori Rapp, Superintendent of Lewisville ISD, has been named the 2025 Region 11 Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Association of School Boards for her exceptional leadership, vision, and lifelong commitment to public education.

Dr. Rapp has spent her entire 30-year career serving the LISD family.  “It is the honor of my career to support the students, staff, and entire LISD community,” Dr. Rapp said. “I am proud to be a public school educator, serving alongside a great team of dedicated leaders and committed staff. To get to be Superintendent in the district where I started out as a teacher is very special.”

Since her appointment to superintendent in 2022, she has united the LISD community under a shared mission of excellence, and built a culture rooted in trust, belonging, and student-focused decision-making.

“My top priority and focus is on community engagement. I believe that the strength of public schools is positively impacted by strong community engagement and that strong public schools make the entire community stronger. This focus resulted in working to unite our communities across our 127 square miles as OneLISD. When schools, parents, and community members work together, student achievement and engagement increase which helps ensure our students are prepared for their future.”

Dr. Rapp makes it a point to be with students as much as possible, and you can follow her adventures supporting our children at #RappOnTheRoad. “Our students are the future of our communities, our state, and society – supporting them is important to me because I truly believe when you invest in a child you are investing the future.

“I also work to spend as much time as I can with our staff as they educate and provide for our students – which is why I visit as many classrooms, campuses, activities, and events as much as possible to support the great work they do every day.”

Dr. Rapp was nominated for the award by the LISD Board of Trustees and selected through a rigorous regional process that included a comprehensive application and interview.

“I am honored that our LISD Board of Trustees nominated me for this award. I am proud to work with a Board of Trustees that are tireless advocates and champions for public education in our community and in our state.”

As the regional winner of the Superintendent of the Year award, Dr. Rapp will move on to compete at the State level with the other 19 regional candidates. The 2025 Texas Superintendent
of the Year will be announced at the txEDCON conference in September.

“I always want to express my appreciation to my family who without their love and support I would not be able to do the work I do every day,” Dr. Rapp said.
