Did you know that most of the time soft dog food is made from the same or very similar ingredients to the regular dog food that you buy if you’re purchasing from the same brand? Isn’t that crazy? You’re paying more for a softer version. One trick that I’ve learned is if you take the regular dog food, add some water, and let the food soak it will soften itself. And I’m going to be honest with you, my little baby has never noticed the difference.

If you’ve got a little bit of extra time you can also use whole food ingredients to make your own dog food. A great way to make a gourmet meal is to combine ingredients like chicken, sweet potato, rice, and even green beans to their bowl. All of these items can be prepped in advance and are typically on the less expensive side when it comes to grocery shopping. If you’ve got a bit of extra time and you’re really looking to make your puppy feel extra loved and special I would highly recommend this method. Your baby will definitely be thanking you with lots of love and kisses.

Pets aren’t the cheapest luxury in life, but they are a big part of our happiness when it comes to being pet parents. Even though some of the expenses are high, the desire to spoil them is always there.
