A Lifeline for Cats in Need

In the heart of Lantana, a dedicated group of volunteers is making a significant impact on the lives of cats and kittens through their nonprofit organization, Rescue Me.

As a 501(c)(3) rescue, RM is committed to bringing felines in need into a nurturing foster care environment, providing them with essential medical care, and ultimately adopting them into loving forever homes.

The journey of each cat begins with the understanding that they come from various challenging situations, and RM aims to create a full-circle rescue process. This includes spaying and neutering every cat that enters their program, which not only helps manage the local cat population but also contributes to the overall health and well-being of the community. By mentoring and facilitating TNR (trap, neuter, and return) initiatives, Rescue Me is working tirelessly to ensure that cats in the area lead happier, healthier lives.

One of the standout features of Rescue Me is their comprehensive adoption assistance. The organization not only helps find loving homes for cats and kittens but also offers services
such as microchip scanning, medical assistance, and support during the adoption process.

Recently, RM has shifted its focus toward TNR to combat the growing issue of overpopulation among community cats. By implementing this program, they aim to reduce the strain on local resources and create a more harmonious environment for both feral cats and their human neighbors.

The success of Rescue Me can be attributed to its community-driven approach. Formed by Lantana residents, the organization has become the go-to resource for cat and kitten outreach in the area. Their active presence on local Facebook pages ensures that they are readily available for assistance, and they pride themselves on their quick response times — both day and night. This community engagement has built a strong network of supporters and fosters a sense of belonging among those who adopt RM cats.

For those looking to adopt a feline companion, Rescue Me offers an easy and accessible adoption matching service. Their dedicated team works closely with potential adopters to ensure that each cat finds a compatible home. With regular adoption events held at Petco in Highland Village, including upcoming events on Nov. 23 and Dec. 7 and 14 from noon to 3pm, families can meet their future pets in a friendly and welcoming environment.

In addition to their adoption services, Rescue Me is gearing up for an exciting opportunity to give back to the community. An Angel Tree will soon be set up for those wishing to help fulfill the organization’s wish list items. Furthermore, they maintain an ongoing Amazon Wish List, allowing supporters to contribute directly to the needs of the rescue.

As RM continues to grow, they are also calling for more community involvement. They have a pressing need for foster homes and residents willing to assist with TNR efforts. The organization provides training and supplies for those interested in learning how to trap, neuter, and return cats effectively. Every little bit of help counts, and RM encourages individuals to join their mission, no matter how big or small the contribution.

Rescue Me is not just a rescue organization – it is a community initiative dedicated to improving the lives of cats and strengthening the bond between humans and their furry companions. Their commitment to responsible pet ownership and community outreach makes them a vital resource for Lantana residents.
