Kristen Wright is convinced God has a sense of humor. And if she had to guess, she’d bet He’s giggling at her right now. After all, it’s the only way to explain her decision six years ago to change careers for the first time in over two decades and jump into real estate.
That’s not to say Kristen isn’t a natural at what she does. As the team leader at Be the Reason Real Estate Group, powered by Fathom Realty, the Argyle resident has made it her mission to make the buying and selling process easier for clients in Argyle and beyond. But through a weird series of events — mostly the experience of having moved with her family several times over the years — she was gifted the inside scoop on what it can be like in her client’s shoes.
“I remember being told during our first move, ‘You can look at three houses, and then you have to pick one of them.’ And because my husband and I were young and didn’t know any better at the time, we did,” Kristen said with a laugh. “It was the worst experience. I never imagined being a realtor, and yet, I felt strongly pulled by God to do this. And I thoroughly love this job.”
She added, “I decided long ago to do this job the way I wanted. I tell my team to assist in ‘being the reason’ our clients have an excellent real estate experience they feel proud of.”
The real estate market will always have highs and lows, which has especially been the case over the past few years. And on top of that, no two transactions are identical. This makes it increasingly difficult for clients to know what to expect. But the fact is, buyers and sellers have options when scouting out a realtor.
Kristen and her team pride themselves on setting a new bar for a client-centric approach. Those who choose Be the Reason Real Estate Group would say they have their finger on the pulse of what people want from their real estate experience. The team treats everyone the same — regardless of whether they are interested in a multi-million dollar property or a starter home in the suburbs. They focus on building trusting relationships first, being approachable and honest, knowing the market like the back of their hand, and building a culture of enormous safety.
A lot of that is because of Kristen’s background. Most people don’t know she spent 22 years in telecommunications, holding various leadership positions. As a result, she genuinely believes that real estate should not be under the sales umbrella.
It’s a service-focused transition in people’s lives that should be treasured at every turn.
And the best part is that her team of 18 professionals is cut from the same cloth and has grown to the point where she has an expert for every real estate need. So if you’re looking to buy or sell, invest in a separate property, get into commercial properties, or finally switch over to the ranch lifestyle, Be the Reason Real Estate Group can help.
“I only hire new realtors, and before we bring them on, they take an assessment to make sure they are focused on service at their core and have the ability to negotiate like a pro,” Kristen said. “There are thousands of realtors that you can work with, and people can spot someone from a mile away who is only interested in their own success. Who wants to work with someone like that? I tell my team that it’s important to learn the legal pieces of real estate, and then be yourself. Be focused on the client and delivering the best experience.”
That’s not a bad outlook for someone who puts their faith in God’s sense of humor.
“No one has won a gold medal for real estate awesomeness, but you must be focused on educating and protecting your clients. And I think we’re exceptional at doing that,” Kristen said. “Real estate is stressful, hard, and risky, and for a buyer or seller to complete a real estate transaction is an enormous achievement. We want to protect and educate them throughout the whole process so that they feel good about what they’ve accomplished.”
